Abortion Doc Gunned Down at Church

How do I explain my church's anti-abortion display to my 7year old?
St. Dominic's - 5.21.09

PLEASE I do not want anyone's opinion on abortion!!!!
*** This is a PARENTING question! ***
My (Roman Catholic) church is putting up an anti-abortion display. For those of you unfamiliar with it, they take the entire front "yard" of the church and post hundreds of little crosses. I just KNOW my daughter is going to ask. I am not ready to have a sex-talk with her, so I need a way to explain it that 1. doesn't use sex, 2. does not scare her, 3. will make her feel like I answered her question fully, and hopefully 4. will defend her psyche against getting scared or confused if someone at her (Catholic) school says something like "baby killers" or "mommies who kill their babies" or something else that might scare her. I'd prefer something that helps her remember that God is kind and merciful. Thank you.

All you have to say is that those crosses are for the memory of all of the little babies that die every year. You needn't say anymore than that.

I'm familiar with the church doing this. We're Catholic as well. :)

Is it really wrong for a preacher to say you can't be apart of the church if you support abortion or gayrights?
St. Dominic's - 5.21.09

Just as the Catholics are known for not letting people take part in communion if you are a supporter of abortion, just as seen on the O Reilly Factor? Does it offend you that a church wants to shape the way you think or you can't be apart of them? Is this fair?

It is wrong for the Catholic Church to practice to such a thing because their Word of God is a counterfeit of the real original Hebrew OT. And, house-churches is what I am in support of.

And, besides, what sense would it make for the RCC to be against abortion and gay rights, when it can freely justify war under the Just War Doctrine and allow sodomites to positions of power?

What do you think about the third-term abortion doctor being shot in a church incident?
St. Dominic's - 5.21.09

I'm not religious and am against abortion but I highly doubt he did third term abortions because of the money or it was really fun. He was shot in church which I can only assume means he was religious and felt that god forgave or encouraged him for sympathizing with the women he treated. What are your thoughts?

I think your reasoning is overly convenient. He took life for money. He has no cause to complain when his life is taken for taking lives for money, any more than a hit man on death row. I don't think he deserved to be murdered, but come on. He wasn't innocent.

How Do You Feel About The Abortion Doctor Being Shot In Church?
St. Dominic's - 5.21.09

An abortion doctor was killed in church and I have to wonder how is it that Pro-Lifers claim to value life when they kill others

this is a long answer but read it anyway if you want to know more about tiller (abortion doctor) the man

perhaps the lord allowed that to be the place when he gave free will to the shooter to demonstrate that the good from it is to remind us that taking a life/lives/60,000 lives makes one subject to losing their own and to demonstrate you reap what you sow. And to remind us that justice is sometimes written into the law of you reap what you sow so we will come to repentance. He got his karma form what he did for so long with no mercy or conscience.

If Jesus considered the sellers in the temple to be terrible being there and it thrw him into a rage about making the temple a "den of vipers" due to greed, he might have not liked the doctor there either killing the most vulnerable out of intense and runaway greed...surely his vast wealth was enough by now, though his word tells us vengeance is his and he did not condone this act but only he knows the shooters internal motives.

Tiller had an opportunity to repent and a forewarning of what might occur if he continued in sin and this job was given him when he survived a previous shooting. If he had cared about his family and grandchildren and how they might suffer through this and fare without him, he might have stopped doing what he did.

But his greed was too much to give up. Money he loved above them it seems. He thought his bullet proof vests, high walls, surveillance cameras and body guards would allow him to continue doing what many found abhorrent..killing viable babies ready to be born. He gambled and he lost as one person decided to stop him hoping I guess to save lives by maybe scaring other doctors doing this or something.

I do have empathy for those mothers whose babies suffered horrific genetic deformities and their desire to spare a wanted child from a lifetime of pain or suffering and he did help them do what they decided but for the ones he did for other reasons, I feel this is just plain wrong.

I researched him quite a bit after the shooting and discovered he did at least 25 or more abortions a day at 5000 dollars each. He himself estimates he did at least 60,000 abortions, He must have had millions saved in money.

He said he quit a former area he did the abortions at as it's location had to have the mothers cross the nursery for newborns and so many of the women then changed their minds that he was losing too many patients.
this shows that money was the reason as he was not wanting to help women as he did not want them to change their minds and give their babies life and he had speeches designed to make them decide to go ahead if they expressed misgivings of maybe adopting instead or keeping the baby...he talked away their misgivings and potential to keep their babies as part of them wanted that (for some) by playing on their fears and any selfish desires and he did it in a way that made it look like he was caring about them

For ex--they thought maybe they could adopt he talked of do you really think you could stand knowing your child lived somewhere in the world..I just saw my cousin's adopted son at a party yesterday..he is very gifted, in college studying engineering and a charming guy...had his birth mom went to tiller, he would be dead before birth and my barren and agonized cousin would never have had the son she and her husband were able to give many opportunities too because of her wealth and much good parenting due to being a loving teacher. The parents of this son were college students engaged but not ready for a child..they loved their son enough to give him life and hand selected form letters his parents. Tiller convinced women considering it that adoption was a bad option. Why doesn't he ask the adopted children of the world if they think it is a bad option?

He treated many of the mothers like dirt. Women telling their stories tell of having the most horrific pain in their lives and when they screamed or cried, he yelled at them and was cold and mean and treated them with no concern.

He had a rude women named Edna who even his fellow abortionist doctor berated when he found a women in severe pain in the hotel that TYiller illegally used as a hospital and had his doctor and alleged nurses at the hotel in rooms. Edna pretended to be a nurse but was not, others had no licenses and they did injections and other nursing duties.

The supposed 2nd doctor who was required to give a signature by law in order for his to do late term abortions was a paid member of his staff who could not independently do these 2nd opinions..only if he allowed or referred the patients he wanted to here. she did what he said.

He sometimes did not question the women or get consent until after the procedure started. He forced the women to evacuate their babies into the toilet. He refused to let them have the father or anyone present so if the woman changed her mind or was injured or in pain, they had noone to advocate for them lest he lose the business or get sued apparently.

Many times he refused a screaming or tearful mother in great pain any pain medicines while yelling at her to shut up less she scare the other women waiting and they leave causing him $5000. He made them leave through a rear doo
