cost is not an issue, it is for my aunties birthday present, she will be 50, but she has been going on about getting more jewelry, and she has this gorgeous jesus cross necklace, that she has had for years, and she has been going on about wanting another one. It has to be Gold, because she is allergic to silver.

The wear the long skirts, and don't wear gold or jewelry or anything like that, that Paul said not to wear. So why don't more Christian women dress like this?

i wear skirts and no jewelry except an engagement ring. i also do not cut my hair.

My perception is that the cross is worn to remember to terrible account of Jesus' death. If one wears say an elaborate diamond cross, or even a nice looking gold cross, does this not distract from the message? It seems that making a cross essentially look good, one is not only missing the point that the cross is supposed to represent something terrible, but also it is turning it into a piece of art or jewelry, where the owner or anyone looking at it is likely to admire the jewelry and not the message.

Modesty does not mean being covered in a tent from head to foot. Also, the standard of modesty varies from country to country. What might be considered modest in Rio de Janeiro might not be considered modest in Topeka, Kansas.
