I've noticed things like "purity rings" and "purity balls" that are a really popular trend with young christian girls who want to advertise their virginity, and it made me wonder if boys do anything like that. Is it seen as important that boys remain celibate until marriage (some people believe that it's the woman's duty to please the man sexually, and the idea of her having sexual needs is weird and foreign), and if so, why isn't there a trend out there that allows them to announce it to the world?
Also, do people really believe that someone who has had sexual contact is "dirty" or "unclean" or something? Doesn't that give a really unhealthy view of sexuality to some people?
To the first, I don't know. During teen years, most boys use their personality as birth control.
And having never had sex with a virgin, I consider no woman to be unclean.
Just human constructs that are silly and meant to suppress our nature.

I am a apostolic pentecostal christian and keep myself modest (no tight fitting clothes, if I do wear pants I wear a top that goes to mid thigh ETC.) no makeup or jewelry. I feel like for me that hijab is also right for me. I know we teach that your uncut hair is your covering and I am not disputing that but, for me I feel lead to hijab as well. I am not looking for criticism or whys? or women's rights this and that. I am american born and raised I know I have the right to vote and wear what I choose.
Someone had noted that I might seem to be mirepresenting and I understand what you mean but, the I sound confused I know exactly what I believe but, nun;s cover, some Jews, some Catholics and alos some conservitive Christians. The only thing that changes is the style of covering. It's not my fault that the style of covering that I like happens to be in America associated with only Muslims but, if you have ever been to the Middle East or just study it in general you will find Christians hijab also.

They were chosen as a Best Answer for a request by a Christian girl looking for a modest semi-formal dress. I don't understand how body hugging or gold silk dresses, worn with massive make up, done up hair and fancy jewelry, is considered modest, at least in the Biblical sense.
The Bible does nto say modesty hs to do with how much skin you show. THIS is what the Bible says:
Tim2:9 "I want women to adorn themselves modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments"

I personally believe a woman should be as sexy andimmodest as she wants to be. What I am observing is a ridiculous misunderstanding of what modesty is; Christians today make it all about sex, and its isn't supposed to be all about sex. In fact, it has nothing to do with sex; that is a seperate matter altogether.

First, christian is not another way of saying asexual or even nice. Look at catholic priests.
Why not give them the same things? I'd skip the stuffed animals though.
I'm a 19 year old guy, and being straight edge, i want a girl who is doenst have to be striaght edge, but drug/alcohol free, and will not participate in premarital sex. So she could be either a devout christian or straight edge. im perfectly fine with both. I prefer tomboy-ish girls, and ones that have tattoos, and not that tramp stamp crap, like lots of tattoos. and this is a big one for me, i dont want a girl who is into material possessions such as expensive clothes, jewelry, money, etc. like girls that are different... very different but in a good way; unique would be a good description. Im not gonna hunt anyone down lol, im just wondering, are they any girls out there that somewhat fit this criteria??
I used to go to conservative churches that teach that abstinence crap, and I learned that the leaders of these churches actually crack jokes about 30 and 40 year-old virgins behind their backs. Now I just send my Christian friends to the site below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. It covers same-sex lifestyles too. I hope it helps you.
