I am receiving reconciliation this weekend, and I have a few questions about this. please, only very serious answers, as this is very important to be. Thank you for all who are helping.
To be granted forgiveness from God, what must I do to prepare myself for Reconciliation, or say once in reconciliation?
Can all sins be forgiven, is there any that if I confess, the priest may not confess?
Is there anything else I should know?
Some of these questions may have obvious answers for you, but I honestly do not know them. I have also heard something about sins of the sixth commandment cannot be forgiven? What does this mean, just adultery, or lust too? Of corse this is what i read, and i would like to verify it.
Thank you, and God bless,

The key to making a good confession is to confess EVERY SINGLE MORTAL SIN without reservation, and then confess whatever venial (less serious) sins that you can remember.
If you deliberately hold back even one mortal sin, the whole confession will be tainted and of no avail.
The other important thing is to make up your mind that you will seriously try to avoid committing those sins in the future.
This, along with an act of contrition, is pretty much all the priest needs from you in order to give you absolution ... which is God's solemn assurance of forgiveness for all your offenses.
Through the power of the sacrament, God will also replace any grace that you might have lost through sin, so when you walk out of that confessional, you'll be better than new, spiritually.
As a practical matter, NO SIN is unforgiveable.
And don't worry about offending the priest. He's probably heard it all before ... and much worse.
God bless you, too.

Officials of the Catholic Church in China say their church is growing, despite internal tensions that have split the church into rival factions ...
i am a catholic wanting to get reconciliation from a priest, but my nearest catholic church is 20 min away driving, and i cant drive, nor is there anyone here who can give me a ride. there is a mormon church within walking distance and i was wondering if it would go against catholicism if i was reconciled there from one of their priests. i was also wondering if it was the same process.
No the LDS Church does not have an ordinance for confession and repentance. We may work with our Bishop to repent of serious sins. Otherwise we repent through prayer directly to Heavenly Father.
I'm not after any details of the sacrement of reconciliation just how it HELPS a catholic? I'm looking for 4 or more points. Thanks x
First, buy getting forgiveness for our sin.
Next by getting advice on avoiding it in the future
Also by keeping us in the Grace of God.
Makes us worthy of receiving the Eucharist.
Brings us closer to Christ.
all of this brings Peace.
Peace be with you!
Do you see any possibility that in the future the two branches might possibly bridge the gap between their respective doctrines, finally mending the schism?

Catholic Reconciliation Weekend Starts Friday – The Religion World ...
The 40 days of Lent, which evoke the time that Jesus spent fasting in the desert, are a time of conversion and reconciliation. Conversion to Christ requires humility to accept what we need – the need of others and God, the need of His forgiveness and His friendship. This happens especially in the sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist.
Catholic Gifts – Ideas for Baptism and More: A Guide to Religious ...
Within the Catholic Church, there are seven sacraments. While some, such as the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick, may be celebrated individually, most are community events. Family and friends often join together to commemorate occasions such as baptism, first communion and confirmation.
It is not uncommon for gifts to be bestowed upon the person receiving the sacrament. However, it can be difficult to find the perfect item to mark these important events. Below are some suggestions for Catholic gift-giving as well as unique gifts.
Catholic Baptism GiftsAt baptism, original sin is removed, and a person formally enters into the Catholic Church. Although baptism can occur at any time, most Catholic parents have their children baptized as infants. Since Catholic baby gifts are not always easy to find, many baptismal gifts are intended for either future use or as a remembrance of the day.
