in Houston Texas? There were thousands of Catholic young people, high school and college age and other age's invited but mostly young people attended. With uplifted hands of praise and adoration they were praising God. Even dancing before the Lord with praise. The band was real good also. But I never saw such praise to God in all my life. God is getting his people ready for his coming.
no, i haven't,but i heard of it.it sounds pretty important so i accually want to go
I know they decided after the theory had already been "proven". Can anyone give me a link that tells me when the catholic church stopped believing the earth was the center of it all? Thanks so much!
Well before Pope Benedict XIV granted an imprimatur (an official approval) to the first edition of the Complete Works of Galileo in 1741.
“[Galileo] declared explicitly that the two truths, of faith and of science, can never contradict each other, 'Sacred Scripture and the natural world proceeding equally from the divine Word, the first as dictated by the Holy Spirit, the second as a very faithful executor of the commands of God', as he wrote in his letter to Father Benedetto Castelli on 21 December 1613. The Second Vatican Council says the same thing, even adopting similar language in its teaching: 'Methodical research, in all realms of knowledge, if it respects... moral norms, will never be genuinely opposed to faith: the reality of the world and of faith have their origin in the same God' (Gaudium et Spes, 36). Galileo sensed in his scientific research the presence of the Creator who, stirring in the depths of his spirit, stimulated him, anticipating and assisting his intuitions”: John Paul II, Address to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences (10 November 1979): Insegnamenti, II, 2 (1979), 1111-1112. In the 2nd Vatican Council, A direction was ordered for churches to move the tabernacle away from the center of the altar, to the left or right side. The church is primarily for the Mass, and the Mass is the Sacrament of the Eucharist, how come they moved the Eucharist away from the most imporant place?
..."It is therefore recommended that, as far as possible, the tabernacle be placed in a chapel distinct from the middle or central part of the church, above all in those churches where marriages and funerals take place frequently, and in places which are much visited for their artistic or historical treasures"...
That sounds outright silly. It is God's house, we are just guests in it. How come God should be the one to adjust, and for us? Why did Jesus got angry with the money changers, and merchants in the temple in the first place? He should have just said. "We must build a small area here in the temple for the merchants." I dont get it. How can be marriages, funerals, baptisms, and art appreciation (for crying out loud).. be more important then the throne of God Almighty, the Creator of the Universe, Who is, Who was, And Who is to come.
The person who said that statement, in my opinion, does not seem to know God at all.
The placement of the Tabernacle was revisited after Vatican II.
The "Instruction on the Worship of the Eucharistic Mystery" (1967 issued regulations (later incorporated into the new "Code of Canon Law") concerning tabernacles (cf. No. 52-57 and Canons 934 944): The holy Eucharist may be reserved only on one altar or one place in any church, and a vigil lamp must bum at all times to indicate and honor the presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. This tabernacle must be immovable, made of solid and opaque material, and locked to prevent theft or desecration of the Blessed Sacrament. The tabernacle "should be placed in a part of the Church that is prominent, conspicuous, beautifully
decorated, and suitable for prayer" (Canon 938).
To promote prayer and devotion, the "Instruction" stated "It is therefore recommended that, as far as possible, the tabernacle be placed in a chapel distinct from the middle or central part of the church, above all in those churches where marriages and funerals take place frequently, and in places which are much visited for their artistic or historical treasures" (No. 53).
Therefore in some Churches the Tabernacle is now placed by itself in its own chapel. This way some can worship Jesus Christ residing in it in the chapel while Mass is going on in the main church.
With love in Christ.

Local NJ Sports - Roselle Catholic Beats Summit 8-1 in Season Opener
UNION, NJ - Roselle Catholics Kevin Cowan allowed one run in five strong innings and drove in three runs in leading the Lions over the Summit High School Hilltoppers on Thursday, 8-1. Cowan scattered three innings over his five innings of work, and Lou Clemente and Steve Patricco closed out the game as Roselle Catholic won the season opener for both teams.
Summit got off to a bright start as the Hilltoppers tallied the first run of the game in the top of the second inning. Senior Jay Crisfield smashed a double down the left-field line to drive in senior Pat Birosak and give Summit a 1-0 lead.
However, Roselle Catholic answered in the bottom of the second as Matt Hennie drove a pitch from Crisfield over the center field fence. Then, after Cowan retired the side in the top of the third, the Lions scored three more runs in the bottom of the third. In the most controversial play of the game, Hennie hit a ball to the fence with the bases loaded in an effort to deliver his second home run of the contest, but Summit center fielder Kenny Miller made a fabulous diving catch to deny Hennie a grand slam. In the process of diving, Miller went over the fence. The umpires ruled Hennie out, awarded Roselle Catholic a run, and advanced two other runners because they ruled the ball out of play after the catch was made. Summit unsuccessfully argued for a double play after they purportedly doubled up Roselle Catholics Patricco at second base. The next batter, Kevin Cowan, doubled in Patricco and Clemente to make the score 4-1.
