Why did the Catholic Church send missions to the Native Americans in the Spanish colonies?

Why did the Catholic Church send missions to the Native Americans in the Spanish colonies?

Because their religion believes in and commands that their religion be taught to those who haven't heard it.

My gods could give a rat's butt less.

What is the mission of the catholic church and why are brothers and sisters imporant?

Yikes... I don't know that I can sum up the mission of the RCC in a couple of sentences. If I had to, I would say that the Catholic Church exists to spread the message of God through Jesus and help people live lives modelled after that of Christ. But again, that's just off the top of my head, and I was never very good at writing mission statements.

The prologue to the Catechism of the Catholic Church is probably the best direction I can give you: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/prol ogue.htm

Why are brothers and sisters (religious orders) important? Religious orders often have a specific mission of their own, such as education, care for the poor, missionary work, etc. Some people feel a calling to serve God in a very direct and specific way, both religiously and secularly. This is one way to do that.

What is the Mission of the Catholic Church?

To "go forth and make disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". This mission was assigned to the Catholic Church by its founder, God, in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Is it possible to know those who were on mission work at the Stockholm Catholic Church between 1987-1988.?

Especially those (women) from another countries except Sweden.

You'd probably have to contact the church in question.

, Italy’s largest circulation weekly news magazine, also indirectly criticised the media mogul’s private life and attacked the type of women politicians he has promoted in his centre-right party. And it did so without naming him once. The clever editorial in its online edition on September 16, here in Italian , was unsigned, meaning it was written by the magazine’s editor, Father Antonio Sciortino.

The editorial came several weeks after relations between the government and the influential Church nose-dived when a newspaper owned by the Berlusconi family launched a personal attack against a top Catholic editor, forcing him to resign. Read our previous blogs on that episode here and here .

bCatholic Church/b must renew its efforts to evangelize, Pope says

.- Pope Benedict's message for the 83rd World Mission Day was made public on Saturday, September 5. The Holy Father reminds Catholics in his message that evangelization is the essential mission of the Church and that they should do all that they can to support the missions.

World Mission Day will be celebrated this year on Sunday, October 18, with the theme: " The nations will walk in its light." The message, published in six languages, bears the date of June 29, Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul, Apostles.

Excerpts from the English-language version are given below:

"The goal of the Church's mission is to illumine all peoples with the light of the Gospel as they journey through history towards God, so that in Him they may reach their full potential...
